Amandina Lihamba
Amandina Lihamba is a director, performer, writer, producer and academician in the performing arts. Her film credits include performing directing and producing Arusi ya Mariamu (Mariamu’s Wedding), Maangamizi (The ancient One), Uhai Bongo (Bongo Life), City Fishers, Khalfani Khalfani, Sobi, and Stage credits include work done in Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. She is also well known for her work in culture, gender, women, youth and children as well as development issues. She is one of two founders of the Children Theatre Project and Festival in Tanzania as well as the internationally acknowledged TUSEME (Let’s Speak Out) project rapidly spreading in many parts of Africa. She is a graduate of Yale University in the USA and the University of Leeds in the UK. She is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Dar es Salaam.
