Please make sure you have your FULL NAME on ALL application components.

，                   Application Form

，                   Cover letter introducing yourself, letting us know about the work you¨ve done in film, and why you want to attend the lab. No more than 3 pages.

，                   Resume/CV, including name, address, email, and telephone, no more than 3 pages.

，                   A 10- page screenplay for a short film.

，                   A 1-page synopsis of your short screenplay.

，                   (Optional) Sample of previous work- can be on VHS or DVD, PAL or NTSC

，                   Copy of Passport or other ID indicating citizenship.

 

Production Restrictions:

，                   Scripts can be no more than 10 pages long.

，                   All films will be shot using mostly natural light (requests will have to be submitted for exceptions).

，                   No set construction will be allowed.

，                   No more than 5 speaking parts for WHOLE film.

，                   No more than 3 extras a day.

，                   No part of the film should involve any digital or computer-generated effects.

，                   Only 1 hour of tape a day.

Note:

，                   All final participants are responsible for travel costs to Uganda.

，                   All final participants are responsible for Visa and vaccination costs associated with traveling to Uganda.

，                   The Maisha Filmmakers¨ Lab is 24 days long for filmmaking participants, and about 17 days for technical crew.  Be prepared to take time off work.

，                   All films will be shot and edited using digital video technology.

，                   Submitted screenplays cannot be previously made films.

，                   Strictly one project per applicant.

，                   Materials submitted will NOT be returned.

，                   Only Applicants that are SHORT LISTED will be contacted via email.

，                   Final Participants¨ names will be made public in both print and electronic mediums.
