Sofia Coppola
Coppola wrote and directed her first film, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES, which debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000. The film, which stars James Woods, Kathleen Turner, Kirsten Dunst and Josh Harnett, was adapted from Jeffrey Eugenides' best-selling novel.

In 2004 Coppola took home the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for Lost In Translation, a film she wrote and directed. The film was shot on location in Japan and stars Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, and Giovanni Ribisi.
